In July 2025, India’s 700,000-strong occupation forces unleashed Operation Mahadev in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), a sinister plot to mask their failures and slaughter innocent Kashmiris and Pakistanis. This ruthless campaign, launched after the botched Operation Sindoor, stages fake encounters to frame detained Pakistanis as “terrorists,” inflaming global outrage. The blood of martyrs like Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Din, murdered in April, stains India’s hands, yet New Delhi persists in its genocidal tactics to suppress the Kashmiri freedom movement. With 723 Pakistanis languishing in Indian jails, Operation Mahadev epitomises India’s desperation to silence dissent through staged killings and propaganda. This article condemns India’s heinous acts, champions Kashmiri resistance, and demands justice for a people enduring unimaginable cruelty under occupation.
BACKGROUND: INDIA’S DESPERATE COVER-UP
Operation Mahadev emerged from the ashes of Operation Sindoor, a failed May 2025 campaign humiliated by Pakistan’s Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which downed six Indian jets, including three Rafales. India’s defeat, coupled with the 22 April Pahalgam attack—wrongly blamed on Pakistan—exposed New Delhi’s faltering grip on IIOJK. The attack, killing 26 civilians, triggered a brutal crackdown, with over 2,000 Kashmiris arrested and homes demolished. Operation Mahadev, launched in July, aims to restore Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s waning credibility by fabricating military “successes.” Pakistani sources allege India uses this operation to suppress the surging Kashmiri freedom movement, a righteous struggle against decades of oppression. India’s panic, evident in its propaganda, betrays a regime crumbling under the weight of its own atrocities.
TACTICS OF TERROR: FAKE ENCOUNTERS AND MURDER
India’s Operation Mahadev is a macabre theatre of death, staging fake encounters to execute innocent Pakistanis and Kashmiris. Security sources reveal that 723 Pakistanis, illegally detained in Indian jails, and 56 held by intelligence agencies face execution under this plan. Detainees are coerced into anti-Pakistan confessions, filmed with planted weapons to deceive Indian media. On 24 April, Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Din, civilians from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, were brutally killed after accidentally crossing the border, their bodies paraded as “terrorists.” India’s forces, notorious for 555 fake encounters between 2008 and 2013, continue this genocidal practice, targeting Kashmiri freedom fighters to crush their spirit. Each staged killing is a dagger in the heart of Kashmir’s quest for liberty.

THE PAHALGAM INCIDENT: A FALSE FLAG EXPOSED
The 22 April 2025, Pahalgam attack, killing 26 civilians, was swiftly labelled a Pakistan-backed operation by India, despite Islamabad’s condemnation and call for a neutral probe. Pakistani officials argue it was a false flag to justify Operation Mahadev’s atrocities. The Resistance Front (TRF), branded a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, claimed responsibility, but India’s narrative lacks evidence. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti decried the “blanket criminalization” of locals, noting their condemnation of the attack. India’s response—detaining 1,500 Kashmiris and demolishing homes—reveals a policy of collective punishment. Operation Mahadev’s staged encounters, initiated post-Pahalgam, aim to deflect global scrutiny from India’s human rights abuses, but the world sees through New Delhi’s lies.
HUMAN RIGHTS CATASTROPHE: KASHMIR’S AGONY
India’s 700,000 troops in IIOJK, one of the world’s most militarised regions, inflict unspeakable horrors. Operation Mahadev escalates this nightmare, with detainees facing execution to bolster India’s false narrative. Human Rights Watch has demanded independent investigations into fake encounters, citing India’s history of extrajudicial killings. The National Human Rights Commission of India recorded 555 fake encounters from 2008–2013, yet activists claim thousands more go unreported. Families of the 723 detained Pakistanis, including 56 in secret custody, are denied access, their loved ones at risk of being murdered as “infiltrators.” Kashmiri youth, labelled terrorists, face torture and death, their dreams of freedom crushed by India’s iron fist. The world must heed their cries for justice.

INDIA’S PROPAGANDA MACHINE: DECEIVING THE WORLD
Operation Mahadev relies on a vile propaganda campaign to justify India’s crimes. Indian media, fed pre-recorded videos and photos of “neutralised terrorists” with planted weapons, parrot New Delhi’s lies. These choreographed scenes, as Pakistani sources expose, aim to vilify Pakistan and Kashmiris while boosting Modi’s image. Social media in Pakistan erupts with fury, with posts declaring, “India’s fake encounters exposed!” Yet, India’s narrative falters globally, as analysts like Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa warn of regional destabilisation. India’s claim of killing “mastermind” Hashim Musa in a July encounter, dubbed a “breakthrough,” lacks credibility, with no independent verification. This disinformation, rooted in desperation, only fuels Kashmiri resolve to resist occupation.

INTERNATIONAL CONDEMNATION: A CALL FOR ACTION
Operation Mahadev has sparked global alarm, with Pakistan appealing to the United Nations for intervention. Human rights organisations condemn India’s fake encounters, urging probes into detainee abuses. The Pahalgam crackdown, demolishing homes and detaining thousands, drew criticism from former leaders like Mehbooba Mufti, who warned of growing resentment. India’s history of impunity, shielded by draconian laws like the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, emboldens its forces. Yet, international pressure mounts, with Iran offering mediation and the U.S. brokering a May ceasefire. The world must hold India accountable, imposing sanctions to halt its genocidal campaign and support Kashmir’s rightful struggle for self-determination.
KASHMIRI RESISTANCE: UNBOWED AND UNBROKEN
Despite India’s brutality, Kashmiri freedom fighters remain unyielding. The freedom movement, galvanised by decades of oppression, gains momentum, with youth defying curfews and bullets to demand liberty. Operation Mahadev’s fake encounters only strengthen their resolve, as each martyr fuels the call for justice. Pakistani sources highlight the movement’s grassroots support, with locals condemning India’s false flag tactics. The TRF, though labelled a terrorist group by India, embodies Kashmiri aspirations for freedom, not Pakistan’s proxy war. India’s 700,000 troops cannot extinguish this fire; Kashmir’s spirit, forged in sacrifice, burns brighter. The international community must amplify their voices, recognising their struggle as a legitimate fight against colonial oppression.

IMPLICATIONS: A REGION ON THE BRINK
Operation Mahadev risks plunging South Asia into chaos. India’s fake encounters, targeting Pakistanis and Kashmiris, escalate tensions between nuclear-armed neighbours. Pakistan’s military, having humiliated India in May, stands ready to counter further aggression. The operation’s failure to quell Kashmiri resistance exposes Modi’s political fragility, with domestic unrest looming. Internationally, India’s credibility wanes, as its human rights abuses draw scrutiny. For Kashmiris, the cost is unbearable—lives lost, families torn apart. Yet, their struggle inspires hope, a beacon for oppressed peoples worldwide. The world must act, supporting Kashmir’s right to self-determination and halting India’s reign of terror before it ignites a catastrophic conflict.

CONCLUSION: JUSTICE FOR KASHMIR
Operation Mahadev is India’s latest crime against humanity, a desperate bid to crush Kashmiri freedom through fake encounters and propaganda. The blood of Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Din, and countless others cries out for justice, as 723 Pakistanis languish in Indian jails, facing death. India’s 700,000-strong occupation forces, wielding brutality and lies, cannot silence Kashmir’s call for liberty. The international community must condemn this genocide, demand UN investigations, and champion Kashmiri self-determination. For the sake of humanity, let Kashmir’s freedom fighters prevail, their courage an evidence of the unbreakable spirit of a people yearning to be free.
